Food Stamps

Okay, obviously food stamps DON'T look like this anymore. In fact I'm pretty sure those on food stamps receive a card somewhat like a debit card these days. Anyway... Not the point. I really just wanted a picture!!

So the story... My co-worker, Heather, and I like to take a little walk to the 7eleven around the corner to get out of the office for a bit. A few weeks ago we were just getting to the building when a car came cruisin' into the parking spot in front of us. The lady got out and asked if she could buy us whatever we wanted with her food stamps, so we would give her cash so she could buy cigarettes. I was seriously SPEECHLESS (this doesn't happen). Luckily Heather quickly responded, "I don't feel comfortable doing that." The women went on, but I was still in shock from what had just happened. Seriously... She thought we would let her basically use her food stamps as a trade so she could buy her cigarettes. I THINK NOT!! Now I could go on forever about my feelings on food stamps, but that would just be boring. The moral of the story: Maybe you shouldn't attempt to trade food stamps for cigarettes by approaching 2 therapist with a background in social work!!! haha. How ironic. I'm not sure there could be 2 worse people to ask except some sort of authority that would actually get her in trouble!

Manti Pageant

So this was seriously so long ago I don't even remember when I went to this. But my parents invited me to go down to to the Manti pageant with them. I'd heard about it, but never seen it. I figured it would be a fun little adventure and I know how much I love the pageant in Nauvoo!! So we went down to Salina and stayed with my aunt and uncle.
Sidenote: I honestly have no idea why anyone would want to live down there. Its seriously white trash nothingless. NOT my style!!
But the pageant was fun! My brother and sister-in-law were there too, so I ended up sitting with them cuz I preferred their seats!!! And while I was there I managed to catch some pretty killer shots of the temple, if I do say so myself.

 

 

4th of July

Well... I know I'm going back like 2 months, but it's time for me to get caught up on my summer!

So I went to my parent's in Logan for the 4th of July weekend. The highlight of the weekend was actually the night of the 2nd. They do a big 4th of July show at the USU stadium and we'd never been!!! My dad had a water turn at his garden, so my mom and I went early and got seats! My dad was lucky to make it for the fireworks! So they had a bunch of random acts (kids, dancing, performing, etc.) The big part of the show was Diamond Rio and the firework show! I thought Diamond Rio was really fun! My mom and I enjoyed listening to them, even though they are a pretty old band. Here are some pictures from that night!

Okay. I know this is super random. But there is a story. (of course!) So this was a group of women like 50-95 yrs old. I just died cuz they were dancing to some newer music! I suggested my mom join this group to make friends and learn some sweet moves!! She didn't appreciate the suggestion as much as me!

Diamond Rio

Now for the firework show! So I took a ton of pictures of fireworks. lame. I know. But I just couldn't stop!! haha. The cool thing about this firework show is that they do it to music. I know a lot of people have seen this before, but it was a first for me. And let me tell you, it totally changed the show for me!! I thought it was incredible!! And they did a good job with the fireworks!

Glass-Thompson Square

You  may not have heart of Thompson Square, but they are a pretty new country group. I went with a few friends to the county fair and saw them live!! It was tons of fun!! I'll have to get pictures from my friends, but until then- listen to this song!! so good!

Allred and Parachute Concert

Well, I saw an ad for a free concert featuring Parachute! I was super excited and even more excited when I saw Allred, a local band, was opening for them! I was first introduced to Allred by my friend Kendra and I've been obsessed ever since! He is fantastic live!! So I convinced my friend, Mary, to join me at the concert. It was super chill at a nice outdoor venue! Here's a few pictures from the concert and some videos from Allred and Parachute!
