Domestic Violence Commercial

Well... Seeing that I work with domestic violence clients (offenders and victims) at my practicum, I thought I would share this rather shocking commercial about domestic violence. This happens to be a commercial from Australia. They are doing some pretty cool anti-violence campaigns there, but this commercial was particularly impactful to me.

Moving AGAIN?!?!

Well folks... after the long search I have finally found a place to live!! As many of you know- my brother and sister in law were gracious enough to let me move in with them when I got kicked out of my previous apartment. I have been very grateful to have a place to stay, however it is further away from work and school than I would like.

Anyway- I will be moving to a place off 4500 South and 1300 East. Its a cute little townhouse and I will have 2 roommates. I met them once and they seem like cool girls. I'm looking forward to really being on my own again and hopefully some what of a social life! I do know another girl in the complex from BYUI so that is a good start! :o)

SHOUT OUT to Kyle and Dilys!! Thanks so much for taking me in on such short notice and letting me stay probably longer than expected!!! It is defintely time for you to have your house to yourself! Thanks so much!

Having family close is great!!

First Movie in 3D

So after about an hour of proding my friend Kenzi convinced me to go see Avatar 3D with her. I've never been to a movie in 3D before, so it was a new experience for me. Not to mention, I was kinda anti-avatar because I'm NOT a fantasy fan. Well- to my suprise- I really enjoyed the movie!! It was really pretty and a great story!! There were actually real people in it! :o) ha. Oh- and I figured they'd just have those lame paper 3D glasses, but I was wrong. They actually had these full on glasses they were giving everyone at the door. They even had sensors and if you left the movie with your glasses on you would beep like a thief!! Anyway- I always have my camera around so Kenzi and I decided we needed to document this activity. Here is what we learned......

Appearntly these 3D glasses are not camera friendly when the theatre is still dark and the flash on the camera is on. We were super confused why our pictures keep turning our blurry. I was a little worried it was my camera- which it shouldn't be because it's brand new!!

So we tried a picture with our glasses on our head. IT WORKED!! It's totally the glasses fault.

So we were about to just forget it and leave. Then the people came to clean up and turned the lights on. We finally got our picture with our sweet shades on right before they took them away from us!! It was a fun night! And we looked goooood!!!

Public Restrooms

So I'm sure we've all had our fair share of run ins and interesting stories with public restrooms. Well here is my most recent:
So I have always heard that women's purses have some of the most germs because people always put them in gross places (ie- the bathroom floor). Well I usually don't have an issue with my purse, but I certainly had an issue with my backpack today. So I walked into the bathroom and expected to hang my bag on the hook on the back of the door. Well- there is no hook on the back of the door. So here are my options of where to put my bag:

1. The baby changing table is down: seriously? I'm gonna put my bag where babies get their diapers changed? I think not my friends!!
2. The sink: well it looks like the person before we took a bath in the sink (there is water EVERYWHERE) So I put my bag there and get it, my books, computer, and notebook all wet. No thanks!!
3. The floor: remember that tid bit of information how the bathroom floor has like the most germs ever? Okay... I'd really rather not have my bag soaking up all these germs.

Where am I suppose to put my bag?
I can't hold in on my lap. Theres too much stuff in it.
If I put it on the handle of the door it will open the door.

I feel this is a lose lose situation folks...
